What if you could finally get your hands on a candle that smelled AMAZING and was bursting with all of the personality and humour at the same time? That’s where we come in. We thrive on making candles that not only smell PHENOMENAL but that also bring laughter to everyone that shops with us. Because if your candle doesn’t make you laugh, what’s even the point?

Let’s be real. Most candles are painfully boring these days anyway so we’re glad we can safely say we’re anything but! One could say we’re reinventing candles - through humour
and honesty.

How our rude candles all started

What has started out as a one woman-band, having had another business for 8 years previously, I decided it was finally time to try something different. In other words, something that I knew had the capability of impacting people in some tremendously positive way.

It originally began as an idea after having endured some of my hardest days – and not so coincidentally, not long after covid. Over the years, I’ve had my own struggles with mental health, especially when it came along with the internal battle of struggling to find my own voice.

Whether it was in relationships, at work, with people or just life generally. Behind the candles there’s a story of learning to cope, heal, and to keep on going.

A Creative Outlet

The business has become more than just a creative outlet - it became a form of escape, and sometimes even a little bit of therapy. Turns out making funny rude candles is surprisingly therapeutic.

Over time, the hundreds of candle labels I created that have been brought to life have
had the intention of being exactly that - fully relatable, humourous and in some ways, a bit of therapy for everyone.

It’s about finding light on days that feel dark. And on those days that feel heavy, turning the negativity into a form of positivity. Moreover, through humour, because laughter is one of the best forms of healing (even when it’s telling the world to piss off at the same time!).

Through laughter we feel good and we embrace it, we feel a hell of a lot lighter, especially when you also have a candle by your side that supports you. Moreover, it keeps it real by saying it all for you.

Where are you based?

Born and poured from a kitchen in the North East, Newcastle to be precise, and do you know, up here we know a thing or two about being characterful.

We currently sell online through our website, Etsy, as well as a number of local markets. You’ll more than likely find Astrollogy Candles regularly throughout the year at places like:

It’s worth noting that we’re not only local but we’re also on the road, venturing out to other venues in different cities all of the time, so keep your eyes peeled! And when
